8th Grade Science
Probably because of my time teaching high school, I prefer to use different terms for our areas of study. You’ll find that I talk about Biology instead of Life Science, Geology and Astronomy instead of Earth Science, and Chemisty and Physics instead of Physical Science. Same subjects, just different terminology. You’ll also notice that I’m not textbook driven. We really won’t use one in class much and seldom will one come home, though there will be homework assignments that can be completed without a textbook.
We’ll start off the year with an introduction to the Scientific Method so that we understand how scientists – and the rest of us as well – think through problems. From there, we’ll move onto Biology and Energy Transformations. After Christmas, we’ll work on Chemistry Physics rounding out our year.
