Though not officially up and running and there’s no news on it yet, the 7th Grade website is now beginning to add info. If you or someone you know is in the 7th grade and has a birthday in September, please visit the site at the address below and put a comment on the calendar. We’ll get it added for you.
Welcome!
This site will be used to list what we’re studying, resources, interesting sites, practice tests, notes from class, and activities that relate to our topic. Some of those activities will be used in class while there may be some that are strictly listed for fun. Most links will be science related and should be very kid-safe. I check each site myself to ensure that there is no content that might be objectionable.

Okay, Guys, I forgot – New 7th Grade Website
If you’re interested in working on the new North Marshall 7th Grade website, please respond to this post. Make sure you include an email address so that I can get a list started and we can get going.
My Creative Kiddos
On Thursday, the kids were to come up with an acronym for the steps of the scientific method. They had two different versions to choose from. The one that most of them used was the one on the board – Problem, Research, Hypothesis, Design Experiment, Test Hypothesis, Gather Data, Conclusion. Some of these were too great to pass up. So I’m putting them here.
People ride horse due to gravitational collisions.
Pink rabbits hide down the green chamber.
Please ride home down the graveled corner.
Princesses run here during the George Strait convention.
Pink rabbit has done taught good classes.
Panthers ride helicopters down the giant cliffs.
Pam rides her dog to good colleges.
Purple Rupert has denied the granny cannibal.
Pink reindeer hop down the green courtyard.
Periwinkle rainbow horses destroyed the green corn.
People ran hysterically down the Gulf Coast.
Purple rats hide down the ghostly corridor.
August 27th – In Class
Homework turned in, openers taken up, notes completed, and Mystery Bag activity FINALLY done. The plan for next week will be posted before the end of the weekend.
I have to say how impressed I am with the 7th grade. They know how to act in the hall and follow directions EXCELLENTLY in lab. What an awesome group of students.
August 26th – Today in Class
Today, we’re working on our scientific method notes. I’m adding the powerpoint to the site today. You’ll find it under the table with the openers. We’re also taking a little quiz. Nothing painful at all. We’re going to go over our homework assignment for tomorrow and if we move quickly enough, we may go to lab…just have to wait and see. We’ve been trying to get there all week, but there’s just too much going on.
Scientific Method Speed Race
Well, in order to have a little fun, as we were going over the scientific method, we took the words on cards and tried to put them in order. The “prize” goes to 7th period who managed to put everyone in order in – drum roll, please – 9 seconds! Awesome job, guys! We’ve had to move our activity one more day, but notes were more important today.
Today in Class
We’re working on those Scientific Method notes, but it’s slow going with the Early Dismissal day. No worries. We’ll get there! I’m going to upload the powerpoint Thursday after we go through more of it.
Tomorrow, we’ve got a really quick lab activity we were going to do today. No lab equipment necessary. Just …..BRING YOUR BRAIN!!!!
Today in Class
Well, we started working on the scientific method and watched a little video on the ice man and crime scene investigations, past and present. Didn’t get very far in our notes, but that will come tomorrow. But we did talk about spontaneous regeneration. So, does that mean if we play a computer game long enough, the people in the game will pop out and run around the room? Hmmmm…
Monday Reminder
Remember to get your science notebook from the back of the room as soon as you get into class on Monday. That applies from this point on. Also, remember, you have an opener on the board every day. Those openers are to be done at the beginning of class. If you’re absent, write absent in the blanks of the day you were out or they will be counted as wrong.
Guys, openers are an easy 100 points a week as long as you make an effort on them. Don’t lose points just because you didn’t try.
End of the First Week!
Well, we didn’t get started on the scientific method, but we did manage to finish up lab safety and have some fun with the safety rap. By the way, my 7th period class ROCKS! Well, you all did pretty good, but they had the lyrics down on the instrumental version. Have to admit, you impressed me.
Looks like this is going to be a fun year. Lots of positives in the classroom and alot of energy going on in there. 5th period – DO THE MONKEY!!!!
Next week, it’s scientific method and labs.
Awesome school, awesome kids, AWESOME YEAR!
