Learning Target – I can review forces and motion.

Today, we reviewed for our test tomorrow.  We played a game which seemed to go over really well.  There are 25 multiple choice and two extended response.  We’ll see how it goes.

Please remember to keep bringing in your supplies for lab so we can get to it as soon as we’ve gone over this test.

Learning Target – I can determine speed, distance, and time given proper information.

This was a day to go over our speed problems and graphs to make sure we were right before we turned them in and finish up the study guide.  Monday is review day for the test on Tuesday.  Some will also need to finish their study guides.

I have people who still haven’t brought in their bottles, cardboard and discs.  That needs to be done by the test on Tuesday so we can start labs after that.

Learning Target -  I can determine speed, distance and time given the proper information.

Today, we looked at our new “Things to Remember” for extended responses.  Our test for Forces and Motion is Tuesday.  You can find the study guide on the site.  The powerpoint for the notes is also on the site.

Homework is a sheet on finding speed and a graphing activity.  You’re to finish the problems and do just the first graph if you’re in all classes but 3rd period.  Third gets to do both graphs. :)

Now, for the next piece of business.  Some of you have talked about wanting to do another flash mob before Christmas.  We can do that, but we have to decide which song to use.  So you get to vote.

Which would you rather have for the next flash mob song?

Learning Target – I can apply Newton’s Laws to everyday situations.

Today, we started reviewing for the test next week.  I had thought we would take it Monday, but now it looks like Tuesday will be the day.  The study guide is online and ready to go.  The test will have 25 questions and one Extended Response.

Okay, guys, we’ve got to get this going. This time, no video so we can pump up the music. Shouldn’t need it. You know this one. Wanna Cupid Shuffle before Christmas? Oh, and pass this one around, huh? I’d like to see some more kids out there, ya know?  Let me know the date and we’re ready to go.

Can’t embed this one, so you’ll have to watch it on YouTube.

Learning Target – I can demonstrate science knowledge on ThinkLink

Today, we took ThinkLink B. Tomorrow, we’ll be getting started again with our Forces and Motions.

Homework today is a reading passage on Crash Test Dummies.

Learning Target – I can review for ThinkLink.

We did ThinkLink review today and in some classes, planned something just a little crazy.  Tomorrow morning, in the gym, at 7:45, we’re going to have a little fun!  At least I hope we are.  At this point in time, it looks like everything’s a go.  What we’re going to do is have a little flash mob.  Any student interested in participating needs to take a look at this video and be ready to show your moves.  When you get the cue, you hit the floor!  Feel free to send it along to your friends so they can join the fun.

If you’re worried about not remembering the moves, don’t worry.  We’ll have the video up and running as a little “helper.”

Here’s the video.

Learning Target – I can explain how Newton’s Laws apply to tug of war.

So today, we played tug of war in every class.  Good experience which taught us who needs to be playing during the Greek Olympics next Tuesday.  Hopefully, you guys learned alot.  I know I did!  The main thing was to dress more warmly on tug of war day.

Oh, yeah!  Also, didn’t assign any homework because you guys did such a good job today.  Happy Thanksgiving early! :)
