Learning Target – I can explain Newton’s Laws of Motion

Today, we worked on the laws of motion notes.  Didn’t get finished with all of them, but we’re about in the middle.

Tomorrow, please remember we’ll be playing tug of war in class.  So don’t wear your best clothes and you might want to make sure you have a jacket.  It’s supposed to be cool.

Learning Target – I can explain why everything is in motion

Today, part of the classes were interrupted by the wonderful sounds of the Wulfe Bros.  That was alot of fun!  So we’ve got some classes that will be a bit behind tomorrow. We’re starting notes over Newton’s Laws of Motion.  Part of it, we’ve already gone over, but a nice refresher course won’t hurt us any.

I’ll be adding some suggestions on apps for your idevices or androids in case you’re interested in downloading the powerpoint or playing some physics games.

Another reminder to try to bring in the supplies we need for labs.

Homework is a sheet on Newton’s Laws of Motion.

Learning Target – I can graph data

Today, we looked over our graphs and learned some things about fine tuning our graphing.  We’ve still got a long way to go, but we’re getting there!  Please remember to write out the steps to finding your scale and range.

Also, remember to be bringing in the following items:  a plastic bottle with a top, old cds, cereal boxes.  We’ll be doing some labs and in order to them, we need those supplies.

Learning Target – I can demonstrate a knowledge of the Sun, Earth, Moon relationship.  (Test analysis)

Today, we looked at our tests from Monday and did our test analysis.  Those who have to retake received letters to take home.  Please make sure those are returned.  You’ll get points added to your test grade if you do.

We talked about the homework assignment that didn’t go well, too.  Remember the deal on that.  Tomorrow, you’ll be offered another assignment to do in its place.  If you choose to take it, the grade for it will be the one that goes in the gradebook.  If you choose not to take it, I’ll put in the grade for the one you looked at today.

We’ll do the rewrite for the extended response tomorrow in class.

Tomorrow will also be the beginning our new unit. Please remember that for activities we’ll be doing until Christmas you need to bring in:  empty plastic drink bottles and old cds. Cereal boxes would be great for the boomerangs we’ll be making.

Learning Target – I can explain the Sun, Earth, Moon relationship

Today was our test over Sun, Moon, Earth.  I’ve graded two sets already and know that we have several students who will doing retakes.  On Wednesday, we’ll be going over the tests and finding out about the retake.

Learning Target – I can explain how Newton’s Laws affect the motions of objects in space.

Today, we looked at Forces and Motion in space with a little music.  Since our next area will be physics, that kind of makes sense, don’t you think?

As another note, I’ve made a change the study guide.  There’s one up, but it needs to be changed.  I’ll try to modify it tonight.  Oops!  For those of you wanting a hard copy, I’ll do my best to get one to you.  The password is the name of planet you live on, by the way.  But don’t capitalize it!
